Sports Specific Child Protection/Safeguarding Investigator Training
Mark has worked in the field of child protection investigations in sport for over 15 years and knows how different it is from many other types of investigations, he therefore wants to share his considerable knowledge to help those working in safeguarding investigations in sports with some specific training.
The skills a former police officer, social worker or investigator has are great foundations, but sports investigations and interviews require a different approach and level of skills, as well as a strong understanding of sports governance, participation and Disciplinary.
Over the years, Mark has worked with in excess of 12 different sports governing bodies including major ones like the FA, LTA, Welsh Rugby Union, England Hockey and he was the designated safeguarding consultant and trainer for two olympic games for the British Olympics Association.
There are a number of different courses in this field and they do vary in quality, but this one is unique and very practical, because Mark’s experience is across many sports disciplines, both team and individual, to date investigating or advising on well over a 1000 different cases. As a result this workshop training is focused on enhancing and developing your skills, thus enabling you to be confident to deal with any concern.
As well as the investigations, Mark has also written many of the disciplinary rules adopted by a number of sports governing bodies and he still represents sports governing bodies, presenting cases on their behalf, at child protection disciplinary hearings.
This workshop will provide you with the necessary skills to take you from the initial point of referral, through the evidence gathering process including any interviews and include how to write up the final report/assessment .
For larger groups, the training can be provided either online or at the offices of a governing body, and is provided online for individuals via Microsoft Teams. The cost per delegate is £300 + vat (a reduced fee is available for larger group bookings)
